Orean confirmed on LinkedIn that it opened a new 72,000- square-foot factory in Hobart.

“Orean Beauty’s new home in Hobart, Indiana, is an incredible step in our journey and a fantastic opportunity for our clients to expand overseas,” the post said.

The U.K.-based company celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 22 at the new location at 1931 Northwind Parkway.

“With over 20 years in the industry, Orean has established a strong reputation as a trusted cosmetic contract manufacturer in the UK market, unmatched for our service, speed and quality,” the release said.

The company moved its U.S. operations from Illinois to Indiana.

“The relocation from Illinois to our larger premises in the second largest manufacturing state in the U.S. allows us to attract some incredible talent and gives us further room for investment and growth,” said Dan Williams, CEO. “The benefits for our existing UK partners are incredible. We’re wanting to
open this up to more UK brands that are currently shipping or looking to ship to the U.S. Everyone should take advantage of this opportunity.”

Orean said reasons to have manufacturing in the U.S. include: avoiding shipping costs from across the Atantic to the U.S. market and a reduction in its carbon footprint.

Orean also is proud of its company culture.

“To transfer our culture of belonging and family to a new operation is not easy,” said Martin Crossley, global operations director. “We’re able to offer secondment placements to our UK employees who want to take advantage of these opportunities and our colleagues are integral to helping us with our culture transfer.”

Orean also is searching for artists to help create a mural for the warehouse in Hobart, said Daniel Dabney, an intern through WorkOne Northwest Indiana, who visited the Hobart location.

“They really want to make their warehouse look more festive and are looking for people in the community to help them with that,” Dabney said in a Nov. 22 Facebook post.

On Nov. 14, Orean hosted students from the STARS Peer Mentoring Experience Program at Indiana University Northwest. Orean also visited students from Ivy Tech Community College's East Chicago and Gary campuses Nov. 2.
