Guide ranks IU Northwest’s online bachelor’s nursing program second in nation for value

April 16, 2020 – By Larry Avila

Health CareIndiana University Northwest’s online bachelor’s degree in nursing program has been ranked second for best in value in the nation by Guide to Online Schools.

The 2020 rankings are based tuition costs, accreditation status, and PayScale salary data, according to IUN. The college’s ranking is based on its low annual tuition rate of $10,896 and a mid-career salary for graduates of $106,900 annually.

Linda Delunas, director of the IUN School of Nursing, said in addition to a strong costs to earnings ratio, what also makes IU Northwest’s program stand out is the partnership between faculty and students.

“Our faculty is highly regarded for their care and concern and the meaningful relationships they form with students, unique attributes that help students achieve success,” Delunas said. “Employers know that IU Northwest graduates are well-prepared and ready to meet the demands of the nursing profession.”

According to Guide to Online Schools, both tuition and salary numbers are representative of graduates from the subject area and degree level specified. The salary figures are median mid-career salaries of graduates and shows the return on investment 10 years after degree completion, IUN said.

IU Northwest’s nursing programs include a traditional Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, as well as a BA/BS-to-BSN program and RN-to-BSN program. IU Northwest also offers a master’s degree in nursing family nurse practitioner. Newly approved Master of Science tracks in nursing education and nursing administration soon will be launched at IUN.
