Heather Ennis, president and CEO of the Northwest Indiana Forum, was elected the 2020 chair for the Indiana Economic Development Association board of directors.

She was elected during the IEDA annual conference in Indianapolis on Dec. 6. IEDA works to promote state and federal policies, which support a positive business climate to help existing businesses flourish and attract new businesses to Indiana.

“Heather’s election as the chair of IEDA is evidence of the high regard her peers have for her and how highly they value the leadership and vision she will bring to the organization,” said Lee Lewellen, president and CEO for the IEDA and IEDA Foundation.

Ennis has been with the Northwest Indiana Forum since 2014. She recently led efforts to launch Ignite the Region, an economic development strategy for economic prosperity; grown membership investment within the Forum organization; cultivated relationships with national site selectors; and lobbied on behalf the Northwest Indiana business community to secure a positive and strong business environment.

“I’m honored to serve as the IEDA board chair and look forward to working with their talented staff on the 2020 agenda,” said Ennis, “The IEDA is an outstanding organization focused on advocacy and the enrichment of economic development professionals throughout the state of Indiana.”
