Northwest Indiana Forum hosts June 4 online presentation with Indiana Commerce Secretary Jim Schellinger

The Northwest Indiana Form will host an online presentation featuring Indiana Commerce Secretary Jim Schellinger.

He will discuss the state of Indiana's economy prior to the crisis, the current environment of economic development activity and the state’s plan moving forward as Indiana and the world gets back to work amid the pandemic.

The presentation is June 4 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Schellinger is expected to speak for between 15 and 20 minutes with the remainder of the time left for a question and answer session.

Northwest Indiana ForumState officials revealed its Back on Track Indiana plan in early May, a process to gradually ease public restrictions and for businesses to reopen. Most parts of the state moved into phase three of the process May 22 while Cass, Lake and Marion counties were scheduled to move into phase three June 1.

As Indiana’s secretary of commerce, Schellinger is a member of Gov. Eric Holcomb’s cabinet and leads the state’s domestic and international economic development initiatives. He previously served as president of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. under former Gov. Mike Pence.
