MERRILLVILLE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., has announced third quarter earnings of $19.3 million, down from $34.7 million one year ago.

The company attributed the decline to lower revenue from its gas distribution business and a cast settlement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on its pipeline modernization program.
