LAPORTE – Monosol has received a 10-year tax abatement from the LaPorte City Council, enabling it to move ahead with a $39 million expansion in the Thomas Rose Industrial Park.

The project includes a $5 million investment in a new 50,000-square-foot building and $34 million in new equipment. Monosol moved to the industrial park in 2008.

The company manufactures water soluble film used in the consumer industry. The company, owned by Kuraray of Japan, also has plants in Portage and Merrillville and in England.
