The Leadership Institute at Purdue University Northwest has opened registration for its 2023-2024 Leadership Northwest Indiana program.
Potential leaders in Northwest Indiana of all ages and industries are encouraged to apply. The eight-month program will offer networking opportunities, leadership skills building and an exploration of best practices.
“Our mission is simple: develop and support leaders wherever they are on their leadership journey,” said Sheila Matias, executive director of the Leadership Institute at PNW, in a press release. “We aim to help leaders and managers strengthen their ‘leadership muscle’ by building their tool kit with skills developed through our researched-based program and customized approach.”
The schedule includes eight monthly in-person sessions from 9 a.m. to noon at PNW's Westville campus. Dates include Sept. 7, Oct. 12 and Nov. 9, this year, and in 2024, Jan. 11, Feb. 8, March 14, April 11 and May 9.
Experts from academia and business will lead the sessions. They will offer the latest research and skills necessary for leadership at home, in the community and at work.
Those who complete the program will receive: a certificate from PNW and a 360 assessment with one-on-one coaching to follow.
The cost of the program is $2,500 a person.
“One of the most beneficial components of the LNI program is engaging the varying levels of professionals in the program,” said Orlando Drummond, program quality director at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana. “Having diverse perspectives on topics and situations from different domains provides participants with comprehensive leadership understanding, challenges and engagement opportunities to best position us to handle our unique situations beyond the program.”
The leadership institute also takes nominations for those who might benefit from the program.
“I think the biggest asset to LNI are the participants,” said Mekisha Richardson, assistant director of the Leadership Institute at PNW. “We recruit leaders from various sectors of the business community in Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland.”
The PNW Leadership Institute “is the hub for leadership development,” according to its website. Its mission includes developing and supporting leaders with the tools and skills needed to be successful.
