GRIFFITH – Enbridge Energy was recently presented with a “Community Excellence” award from Lake Area United Way for the company’s outstanding financial support given in the 2012 annual community campaign.
“Enbridge Energy and its team members are outstanding United Way champions,” said Lou Martinez, president/CPO of Lake Area United Way in presenting the award to John Gauderman, Enbridge Chicago Region Director. “On behalf our community, we thank you for your generous support.”
In presenting the award, Martinez reported that the company’s corporate and employee contributions increased by 10.7 percent compared to the prior year. In addition, Enbridge Energy has three leadership givers who donate $1,000 and more to LAUW’s annual campaign.
“Employee participation grew to 54 percent, an increase of 6 percent. What’s more, the average employee gift is over $400,” said Martinez. “Mr. Gauderman’s leadership has been instrumental. We also wish to thank Pam Lange, Administrative Assistant III at Enbridge, and Jennifer Smith, Public Affairs Advisor, both of whom served as the company’s employee campaign managers on behalf of United Way.”
In accepting the award Gauderman said, “I am pleased we are able to support the Lake Area United Way with our annual employee contribution campaign. We are proud to be associated with an organization that does so much to serve the communities where we work and live.”
