Ivy Tech Community College recently made three administrative appointments.
Kristen Schunk Moreland was named senior vice president and chief strategy officer; Jonathon Barefoot was named vice president for public safety and emergency preparedness and Matthew Etchison was named senior vice president and chief information officer.
Schunk Moreland previously served as vice president for change management and strategic initiatives. In her new role, she will continue to lead the strategy and change management team, as well as the vice presidents of strategic operations who work with the campuses.
Schunk Moreland has been at Ivy Tech since 2011. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs and bachelor’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University Bloomington.
Etchison will continue to serve as the senior information technology administrator for Ivy Tech. Etchison holds a master’s degree in engineering management from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Barefoot, who has been with the college since 2017, has served in higher education public safety for nearly 15 years as a police officer and emergency manager. He holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Western Kentucky University and a bachelor’s degree in homeland security from Eastern Kentucky University.
Ivy Tech’s Northwest and North Central Indiana campus locations include, East Chicago, Gary, Goshen, La Porte, Michigan City, South Bend and Valparaiso.
