The state’s back on track plan allowed for Indiana’s gaming sites to resume operations with safety protocols in place at 6 a.m. on June 15.

Horseshoe Hammond, operated by Caesars Entertainment Corp., in a statement June 12 said it was reopening at 6 a.m. June 15.

The websites for Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa in Michigan City, Ameristar Casino and Hotel in East Chicago, and the Majestic Star Casino in Gary all indicated they were reopening June 15. Four Winds Casino, which has a location in South Bend and three affiliated sites in Michigan, announced June 2 it was targeting June 15 to reopen all its locations.

Horseshoe, and the other casinos noted implementing new health and safety protocols for employees and patrons.

Horseshoe Hammond said it will operate at reduced capacity, in accordance with Phase One Casino Reopening Guidelines issued by the Indiana Gaming Commission. Its slot machine banks were arranged to allow for social distancing; table games will be offered as non-smoking and with limited seating; and guests will be required to wear masks while playing table games.

Certain amenities at the Horseshoe Casino including the sports book, poker room, buffet, steakhouse, the Venue and valet will remain closed until further notice but will reopen in phases in-line with consumer demand and under public health guidelines.
