Heartland Film Festival begins Thursday

            INDIANAPOLIS – As part of the 2010 Heartland Film Festival that runs from Oct. 14-23, eleven high school filmmakers will debut their films.

            Among those films is “Clay,” by John Gordon, about a boy left in the rubble of the Jan. 12 Haitian earthquake; “Glimpse of Horizon,” by Regina Nicholson, about a teenage girl who finds God during cancer surgery; “I Am Afraid,” by Sarah Johnson, who made her film aboard the tall sailing ship S/V Concordia; “A Hat, Some Change, and a Shoe,” by Melody, about a boy who sees an old man begging on the street; and “Lady and the Champ,” by Evan Burris, about two strangers who meet and fall in love.

            Other films include “The Picture Box,” “For the Mailman,” “Out of the Box,” “Death Becomes Him,” “Michael,” and “Chicken Little.”
