MUNSTER – Briar Ridge Country Club held its second annual Golf for a Cure recently, and raised $2,068 for the Community Cancer Research Foundation.

“Before we reorganized our golf outing, we participated in Rally for the Cure, a national grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer,” said Fay Donovan, a committee member for Golf for a Cure. “Proceeds from our event were sent to the national organization, but after discussing our options, we found we could keep the proceeds here close to home and fund research locally.”

The Research Foundation advances the detection, diagnosis, treatment, education and prevention of cancer. It links patients with research sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and other research cooperatives.
