MUNSTER – Linda Eyermann has been named Innovator of the Month for Februaryary by the Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana.
Eyermann tells visual stories through art and when a young man was seriously injured in an auto accident in Wheatfield, she wanted to demonstrate how the tragedy impacted family and friends.
Eyermann, director of education for South Shore Arts, created a collection of 12 works that captured the loss experienced by Joe Nimetz on Christmas Eve 2004. The work also showed the resolve of the Nimetz family and friends to help Joe.
Through a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, Eyermann created the art in eight months. The exhibit, “Knowing Joe,” went on display at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in 2008.
She was nominated by Tricia Hernandez.
