Diversity praised at IU Health LaPorte

LAPORTE – Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital has been recognized as Best in Class in several categories in a national survey of diversity practices.

The Institute for Diversity in Health Management, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association, conducted the nationwide survey of hospital. The study, “Diversity and disparities: A Benchmarking Study of U.S. Hospitals,” was recently released recently.

IU Health LaPorte Hospital was recognized for cultural competency, engaging communities, addressing disparities and delivering quality care.

“IU Health LaPorte Hospital embraces the diversity of our patients and communities,” said Shellie Kermin, marketing coordinator. “To serve our patients and work side-by-side with our colleagues is an honor and a privilege. These awards recognize our efforts to promote cultural competency. We are thrilled to receive them.”
