BURNS HARBOR – The GEM, an energy efficient and handicapped accessible home in the Village in Burns Harbor has been named one of the top five livable homes in the nation by AARP and the National Association of Home Builders.

The GEM is certified as an Emerald by the National Green Building Standard. The other winning homes were in Florida, Oregon, California and New Mexico.
