ArcelorMittal North America names new CEO; announces executive appointments

ArcelorMittal North America has named Bradley Davey its new CEO.

Davey will report to Lakshmi Mittal, chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal. Davey also joins the group management committee. He previously served as vice president of ArcelorMittal, chief marketing officer ArcelorMittal North America and head of global automotive.

Davey joined Dofasco in 1986 as a member of its technology department. He was vice president of Dofasco and chief marketing officer for North America Flat Rolled. Davey previously served on the board of directors for ArcelorMittal Tubular Products and ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Americas Ltd. and as a director of the AISI Steel Market Development Institute.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Davey succeeds Robrecht Himpe, who retires July 1 after 37 years with the company.  

In other company appointments, Peter Leblanc was named chief marketing officer of automotive for ArcelorMittal North America, reporting to Davey. Leblanc previously served as director of automotive sales for ArcelorMittal North America.

Leblanc joined Dofasco in 1987 as a metallurgical engineer. Leblanc graduated as a metallurgical engineer from Dalhousie (DalTech) in Halifax, Canada. He completed executive education programs at the Northwestern University and McMaster University.

Howard MacNair was named president and chief executive officer of AM/NS Calvert, also reporting to Davey. The current members of the AM/NS Calvert management team will report to MacNair, who previously served as general manager of ArcelorMittal and head of operations at AM/NS Calvert.

MacNair has been with ArcelorMittal since 1977, starting at Dofasco in electrical maintenance. He joined the North American leadership team in Chicago in 2015, as general manager of customer service. In 2016, he assumed the role of general manager of operations at AM/NS Calvert.

MacNair is a graduate of electrical technology from Mohawk College of Arts and Technology in Hamilton, Canada.

ArcelorMittal has a presence in 14 states, including Northwest Indiana, and employs about 18,000 people in those facilities.
