MERRILLVILLE — The American Police Canine Association (APCA) will be hosting their yearly conference at Radisson Hotel in Merrillville Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, canines are scheduled to participate in a scenario based training session at the Port of Indiana. The session will include vehicle extractions, narcotics, S.W.A.T., mass transportation, building searches, control and water deployments. The five-day convention will also include classroom presentations, hands-on learning opportunities, problem solving as well as new training methods and techniques from master trainers and trainers from across the United States.
