SOUTH BEND – The St. Joseph County Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a development project for South Bend’s West Side that will result in $2 million in improvements to the Martin’s Plaza on Western Avenue.
A new roof will be added to the building, along with a new façade, new signs and new lighting. The plan also calls for demolition of a former Wendy’s Restaurant.
The improvements are the largest for the plaza since it was built more than 40 years ago.
