HAMMOND – Van Senus Auto Parts, which has stores in Highland and Hammond, have been sold to Auto-Wares Inc. of Grand Rapids, Mich. The Van Senus family has operated the auto parts stores in Northwest Indiana since 1944. Both stores will retain the Van Senus name and all employees are expected to retain their jobs.

HAMMOND – Purdue University Calumet has announced it is buying the Kaplan Commons building about half a mile from the campus near Indianapolis Boulevard and 171st Street. HOBART – SRS Distribution of Texas has acquired Hobart Roofing and Supply which has offices in Hobart and Valparaiso. Hobart Roofing and Supply, which has 28 employees, distributes roofing, siding and windows. The company was founded in 1949 and is owned by Jack Ronneau and Rod Ruess, who will remain with SRS.
