HIGHLAND – Strack & Van Til has announced it will buy seven WiseWay and PayLow stores.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed, although both said the deal should be completed by the end of the year.
WiseWay stores in Chesterton, Hobart and Valparaiso will be rebranded as Strack & Van Til, while PayLow stores in Gary and Merrillville will be rebranded as Ultra Food stores.
WiseWay said the deal does not include its store in Winfield or its Wiseguys Discount Liquors chain. It is expected that between 600 and 700 WiseWay employees will join Strack & Van Til, which operates 34 stores in Northwest Indiana and Chicago.
