HAMMOND – SportsIndiana.org has received a facelift. The new site is more user-friendly and includes features such as an interactive community map, individual community sports venue pages, membership information and information on the sports tourism business in Northwest Indiana.
“This new website greatly simplifies the process of applying for and submitting grant requests for the Sports Tourism Business Development Grants offered through Sports Indiana,” said Jim Dietz, vice president of Sports Indiana. “We certainly encourage all CVBs or Sports Commissions in the state to consider membership in Sports Indiana and be included in this new website.”
In Northwest Indiana, the 2012 NSA Girls Fast Pitch ‘B’ world Series, 2011 Ohio Valley 12u Regional, the USA Roller Sports National Championships and the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Champions received help from Sports Tourism Business Development Grants.
“Since its inception, Sports Indiana has made a collective effort to market the state of Indiana as the sports destination for tournaments and organizations of all shapes and sizes,” said Jason Sands, director of sports development at South Shore Sports.
