Hard Rock Casino donates $125K to Community HealthNet

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary donated $125,000 to Community HealthNet.

Dr. Janet Seabrook, CEO of Community HealthNet and Gary’s first female health commissioner, founded the health organization in 1998. It now has nine locations in Lake County.

Three initiatives will benefit from the funds.

  • $25,000 for breast cancer awareness, including screenings and support services.
  • $50,000 for the Centering Pregnancy initiative, which focuses on well childcare
  • $50,000 for a sexual assault nurse examiner, who is specifically trained to care of sexual assault survivors.

“Hard Rock is proud to support these Community HealthNet initiatives that will improve the quality of life of NW Indiana residents,” said Matt Schuffert, president of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, in a press release.

Seabrook shared her expertise for a story in Northwest Indiana Business Magazine‘s February/March issue in 2025.
