Workshop to focus on digital footprint of businesses

Purdue University Extension and JRS Mar/Com are partnering to share hands-on digital best practices for small business owners.

The “Digital Ready Business; Hands-On Workshop Series” will meet from 1 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays in February at the North County Complex in Portage.

“These workshops are built to meet small businesses where they are,” said JRS Mar/Com Director Joe Skibbie in a press release. “The goal is to help business owners leave each session with tools and strategies they can apply immediately.”

The series was developed to address real-world challenges facing entrepreneurs, business owners and small teams.

Each workshop will focus on a different digital skill. Participants can sign up for one or all of the workshops. Here's what will be discussed:

  • Feb. 4 — Claiming Your Online Turf for Small Businesses: Learn how to establish and manage your business’s virtual identity across multiple platforms through a guided, step-by-step walkthrough led by JRS Mar/Com.
  • Feb. 11 — Social Media for Your Small Business: Explore the strengths, weaknesses and audiences of various social media platforms, then apply the learning in a hands-on exercise.
  • Feb. 18 — Evaluating Your Online Marketing Effectiveness: Learn how to evaluate analytics and digital marketing campaigns to measure return on investment, with hands-on assistance.
  • Feb. 25 — Artificial Intelligence for Your Small Business (virtual only): Discover agentic AI frameworks and learn how AI agents can help handle repetitive and time-consuming business tasks.

Cost is $20 per session and $60 for all four. Registration deadline is Jan. 28. Learn more here.
