NG Vascular offers new hemorrhoid treatment

NG Vascular & Vein Center is offering a new therapy for patients with chronic grade one to three internal hemorrhoids.

The FDA-approved procedure, a hemorrhoidal artery embolization, doesn't require cutting or stitches.

“This procedure is a complete game-changer for patients suffering from chronic hemorrhoids,” Dr. Nazar Golewale, founder and interventional radiologist with NG Vascular, said in a press release. “There is no hospital stay, no general anesthesia, no cutting, and no painful recovery. Just a couple of hours at our center and then the patient can return home and resume normal activities the next day. There will be noticeable improvement within the next one-to-two weeks.”

The embolization is performed within a patient's vascular system using a catheter to cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid.

Golewale appeared on WGN's “Daytime Chicago” last fall in a sponsored segment to discuss the more than 6,000 interventional procedures he has performed.

NG Vascular & Vein Center has offices in Northwest Indian and the Chicago area, including Merrillville and Munster.
