Legacy Foundation celebrates scholarship recipients

The Merrillville-based Legacy Foundation recently announced this year’s winners of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Legacy Foundation's scholarship administrator, Jodi Kateiva, visited local schools to personally surprise each student and congratulate them on being selected. The honor recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and a strong commitment to their communities.

The 2026 scholarship recipients include:

  • Srilaya Baskaran- Munster High School
  • Emily Cicillian- Hobart High School
  • Brynn Hayes- Lake Central High School
  • Emma Lembcke- Crown Point High School
  • Camden Mikulich- Lowell High School
  • Isabella Polkowski- Hanover Central High School

Each Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and an allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment. The scholarship provides for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.

Each year, the Legacy Foundation helps connect students with a range of scholarship opportunities, one of which is the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.
