Shive-Hattery expands reach

Shive-Hattery has acquired Montgomery Roth Architecture & Interior Design, a Houston, Texas-based firm with expertise in gaming, hospitality and multi-family housing.

The move marks Shive-Hattery’s third design office in the Southwestern region. The firm expanded into Tucson and Tempe, Arizona in recent years.

“Shive-Hattery and Montgomery Roth share a strong cultural alignment, with both placing the highest priority on investing in our people,” said Jennifer Bennett, Shive-Hattery president and CEO, in a press release. “As a learning organization, we know that these investments yield lasting returns that are seen in the influence we have, the innovations we create, and the culture we build together.”

Montgomery Roth Architecture & Interior Design will operate as Montgomery Roth, a Division of Shive-Hattery. John Montgomery and Lisa Roth will continue as principals of the Houston office.

“For nearly 28 years, we have designed fresh, sophisticated and exciting solutions for our clients,” Montgomery said. “Joining Shive-Hattery allows us to honor that legacy while creating new opportunities for our clients and employees.”

Roth echoed Montgomery’s remarks.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this next chapter,” Roth said. “We look forward to blending our teams. As part of a larger company, we’ll have the strength and scale to accomplish even more.”

Iowa-based Shive-Hattery is a 650-person architecture and engineering firm. Shive-Hattery has design offices in Valparaiso and South Bend. The firm has 15 additional offices in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona and Washington.
