Daifuku opens Hobart facility

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corp. announced that its expanded facility in Hobart will open Oct. 2.

The expansion adds 310,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space to the original 324,000 square foot facility. It creates a total footprint of 634,000 square feet. The investment supports Daifuku Intralogistics America’s long-term commitment to strengthening its material handling equipment manufacturing capabilities in the United States.

The Hobart facility currently employs 440 professionals, with plans to expand the workforce by 350 over the coming years to meet the growing demands of the market.

“This expansion represents more than just additional space—it’s a reflection of our dedication to innovation, our customers and our long-term vision in the North American market,” said Christoph Schenk, Daifuku Intralogistics America president, in a press release. “We are excited to complete this expansion and welcome our customers and partners to visit the new facility.”

An opening event will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2., Daifuku Intralogistics America, 6300 Northwind Parkway in Hobart. The event will include remarks from company leadership and local officials. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the expanded operations and see product demonstrations showcasing automation technologies.
