History Center to open

A new chapter in Whiting-Robertsdale’s story is about to begin.

The Whiting-Robertsdale Historical Society is celebrating the opening of the History Center of Whiting-Robertsdale with a ribbon cutting ceremony Sept. 13.

The new history center will preserve and share the heritage of the Whiting-Robertsdale community. From exhibits and photographs to artifacts and archives, the center will give residents and visitors alike the chance to explore the area’s past and celebrate the people and stories that shaped it.

Community members are invited to the event. Community leaders and historical society members will be on hand for the ribbon cutting. After the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new space.

“This is more than just a building—it’s a home for our shared history,” said John Hmurovic, Whiting-Robertsdale Historical Society president, in a press release. “We are honored to open our doors and invite the community to discover and preserve the memories that make Whiting and Robertsdale so special.”

The ribbon cutting celebration will take place 10 a.m. Sept. 13 at The History Center of Whiting-Robertsdale, 1606 119th Street in Whiting.
