Valparaiso University’s College of Business has renewed its accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, maintaining a standard held since 1993.
Valparaiso University’s renewal highlights recent initiatives that enhance the student experience and reinforce the College's mission to serve both students and the broader community.
“The accreditation process is really about continuous improvement, making your programs and college better year over year,” said Dr. Matt Luth, acting dean and associate professor of management, in a press release.
Luth added that in the past few years, the school has completed over $200,000 in classroom and technology improvements to Urschel Hall. The university launched a career readiness program for students in the College of Business. It also started a day of service event for College of Business faculty, staff and students.
As part of the AACSB review, the College submitted a 50-page continuous improvement report demonstrating its efforts in strategic planning, curriculum development and learner success. The College’s societal impact was showcased through its commitment to service and engagement, including project-based learning with local businesses and nonprofits.
This year has been notable for the College. It was named the Best MBA Program in the Region by Northwest Indiana Business Magazine, and three students were recognized as Microsoft Office Suite champions for the state of Indiana.
“Valparaiso University has prepared me for both my professional and collegiate life in the world of business and beyond,” Olvia Perlick, business management major and student liaison for the AACSB team, said. “I truly appreciate the fact we are taught how to produce good work and talent in the world, and if we do that, the profit will naturally come.”
