Merrillville to host job fair

The Town of Merrillville’s annual job fair will return to the Dean and Barbara White Community Center next month.

Job seekers and employers from across the Region will come together July 30 for a day of opportunity and networking. The free event is open to community members—whether they are just starting their careers or seeking to make their next big move. In addition to exploring new career paths and making connections, attendees will enjoy raffles, giveaways and prizes.

New this year, the Town of Merrillville is also offering a job fair prep event. Sessions are available 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. July 9 at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center. Open to individuals 18 and older, the free workshop will include guidance on resume building, interview practice and job fair readiness tips. Each participant will receive a free professional portfolio.

“We want job seekers to feel confident and fully prepared when they walk into the job fair,” said Linda Rosas, Town of Merrillville administrative manager, in a press release. “This prep session is our way of making sure everyone has the tools they need to succeed, whether it’s a polished resume or strong interview skills.”

Vendor spots are also open for employers seeking new employees.

“This job fair isn’t just about finding jobs, it’s about building careers and growing businesses,” Rosas said. “We’re proud to bring together job seekers and employers in a way that strengthens our entire community.”
