Surf Internet doubles fiber reach

Surf Internet recently completed its 200,000 fiber-optic internet passing across the Great Lakes region.

An internet passing refers to homes and businesses where service is now available. The milestone marks a doubling of the company’s reach across Indiana, Illinois and Michigan since November 2023.

“We’re not just building infrastructure—we’re building the future of connectivity for our communities,” said Brent Williams, Surf Internet chief operating officer, in a press release. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our entire team, and it energizes us to keep pushing forward.”

Surf Internet is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The company plans to reach an additional 75,000 addresses across its growing footprint in the Great Lakes region by the end of 2025.

Surf Internet aims to deliver high-speed, reliable internet to homes and businesses in underserved, rural communities. Surf Internet is based in Elkhart. The company also has offices in La Porte, Indiana; Byron Center and Fowlerville, Michigan; and Coal City, Naperville and Rock Falls, Illinois.
