South Bend-based Goodwill Industries of Michiana is hosting military veteran Stand Down events across six counties in northern Indiana.
The six events will take place in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Porter and La Porte Counties.
Goodwill Industries of Michiana has a Veteran’s Resource Network. The network connects service members, veterans, their families and their caregivers to community resources that support homeless, at-risk and unemployed veterans. Events offer food, clothing, medical care, mental health resources and job counseling.
The 2025 Stand Down schedule includes:
- May 17: Kosciusko County, Grace College Gordon Health & Wellness Center, 100 Publishers Dr., Winona Lake
- June 21: Elkhart County, Oxbow Park, 23033 C.R. 45, Goshen
- July 12: St. Joseph County, Century Center, 120 S. Dr. M.L.K. Blvd., South Bend
- August 23: La Porte County, La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge St., La Porte
- September 27: Porter County, American Legion Post 502, 4290 C.R. 750 N, Valparaiso
- October 25: Marshall County, Autopark Sports Complex, 2923 Vanvactor Dr., Plymouth
“Through the generosity of our community – including those who shop at and donate to Goodwill – we can continue to empower veterans with critical resources to build brighter futures,” said Jill Powers, Goodwill’s Veterans Resource Network manager, in a press release. “We are thrilled to be hosting six Stand Downs this year, to connect more veterans and their families with the support they need.
Goodwill Industries of Michiana operates 24 retail locations and serves 16 counties. It offers charter high schools for adults and a technical training academy. Goodwill Industries of Michiana also has a maternal-child health program and workforce development programs.
