LAPORTE – LaPorte Regional Health System is preparing for its name change by collecting all items that carry the LRHS or Clarian Health logo.
All staff from LaPorte Hospital, Lakeshore Surgicare, Starke Memorial Hospital and LaPorte Regional Physician Network are collecting branded items – from pens and mugs to shirts and planners – and donating them to the Indiana University-Kenya Partnership.
The Indiana University School of Medicine and Moi University School of Medicine in Kenya have a partnership to provide access to healthcare in one of Africa’s largest, most comprehensive and effective HIV/AIDS control systems.
“We made the decision to unite under one identity to change the way people in Indiana experience health care,” said G. Thor Thordarson, president and CEO of LRHS. “The Great Logo Recall events are symbolic of the great things we will accomplish in the new year as we work closely together as a statewide system.”
In October, LRHS announced it was changing its name to IU Health LaPorte Hospital. All affiliates and facilities will also change their names to fall under the newly named IU Health statewide system.
