Hitachi names new president, CEO

Michigan City-based Hitachi Global Air Power appointed Hideki Fujimoto president and CEO, effective April 1.

Fujimoto succeeds John Randall who was promoted to president and CEO of Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems. Hitachi Global Air Power is part of Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems.

Fujimoto brings experience in leadership, engineering and innovation development to his new role. During his tenure at Hitachi, Fujimoto has assumed increasing responsibility, including serving as vice president engineering at Hitachi Global Air Power. He will relocate from Tokyo to Michigan City in the coming months.

“Hitachi Global Air Power has been undergoing a significant transformation, and I’m excited to return to the United States and build on the momentum John Randall and the team have created,” Fujimoto said in a press release.

Randall led Hitachi Global Air Power for the past four years and was instrumental in modernizing the company’s manufacturing capabilities. In his new role, Randall will oversee the Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems group. He will relocate to Tokyo in the coming months.

Randall said his time at Hitachi Global Air Power has been rewarding.

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a talented and dedicated team and together, we’ve made great strides in transforming the business,” Randall said. “I look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth and seeing all the great things ahead.”

Hitachi Global Air Power is an industrial compressed air manufacturer. As part of Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems, Hitachi Global Air Power operates factories in Michigan City and Suzhou, China. The company also has offices in Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and South and Latin America.
