VALPARAISO – Taltree Arboretum will host two classes in October and November for people interested in learning more about invasive species and bonsai plants.

“Invasive Plants” will be discussed from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the arboretum, 71 N. County Road 500 West. The class will provide information on what an invasive plant is, how to identify it, how it got here and how to remove it. Cost is $25 for nonmembers and $20 for members.

“Bonsai Basics” will be discussed from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Nov. 3. The class will talk about caring for a bonsai tree, the different species, soils, shapes, pruning technique and more. The cost is $35 for nonmembers and $30 for members.
