Dan Dakich, Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer, will be the featured speaker at the Gary Chamber of Commerce's 16th annual Lakeshore Classic.
Networking at the luncheon begins at 11 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, 5400 W. 29th Ave., Gary.
Dakich, a region native, has served as a collegiate coach, radio announcer and studio analyst. An Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer, he is a former player for Indiana University under Coach Bob Knight and an interim head coach for the Hoosiers. Dakich also served as head coach for Bowling Green State.
Dakich hosted The Dan Dakich Show on Indianapolis Radio WFNI-The Fan and was an ESPN college basketball color commentator. Currently he is a midday host on WXNT 1430 Indianapolis.
The chamber is a volunteer organization. Business owners, community leaders and residents invest their time to promote economic development in Gary.
Charles Hughes has led the chamber for more than 10 years.
