Merrillville-based Centier Bank celebrated the opening of its relocated downtown Fort Wayne branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 17.

Located in the newly renamed Centier Bank Building, the branch underwent the largest interior renovation in Centier’s 129-year history.

Centier CEO and board chairman Mike Schrage, president Chris Campbell, Fort Wayne market president Doug Wood, regional sales manager Scott Vermillion and branch manager Dijana Hrncic attended the event. They welcomed members of Fort Wayne’s business community, local chambers, renovation project partners and nonprofit organizations to the celebration.

“The preparation and opening of this branch have been special from the start, and we are proud to further our Fort Wayne legacy by adding Centier Bank’s moniker to this iconic building and downtown Fort Wayne’s skyline,” Schrage said in a press release.

Centier Bank partnered with Fort Wayne's Design Collaborative and Michael Kinder & Sons on the renovation project. They maintained existing architecture and interior design elements where possible. Intact are the lobby’s limestone details, ornate ceilings and columns.

The new banking center features reception areas, expanded office space, additional teller stations and upgraded lighting.

“We are incredibly excited to be up and running in this new location, a beautiful space designed to enhance the banking experience for our current and future clients,” Wood said. “The Centier Bank building reflects our commitment to growth in the Fort Wayne community and dedication to providing exceptional service to its residents and businesses for years to come.”

During the ceremony, the bank donated $2,500 to both the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne and Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana. Leaders from these nonprofits focused on youth development and empowerment were in attendance.

Centier Bank was founded in 1895. The family-owned bank operates over 60 offices. It serves 35 communities across 11 counties in Indiana.
