LAPORTE – LaPorte Regional Health System has announced that beginning in 2011, its name will be changed to Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital.
The change is part of an effort to establish a new identity that better aligns with Clarian Health, (which will become Indiana University Health), said G. Thor Thordarson, president and CEO of LRHS.
The names of all hospitals in the Clarian Health system will align with the new IU Health name, but retain their local identity. Starke Memorial Hospital, for instance, will become Indiana University Health Starke Hospital.
“We will be proud to be known as IU Health LaPorte Hospital. To our patients, the IU Health name will become synonymous with high quality, coordinated patient-centered care,” said Thordarson.
