Three NiSource subsidiaries were ranked among the most trusted utility brands in the country.
NIPSCO, Columbia Gas of Ohio and Columbia Gas South secured positions on Escalent’s list of trusted brands. Columbia Gas South is comprised of Columbia Gas of Kentucky and Columbia Gas of Virginia.
Escalent is a data analytics firm. Its ranking recognized 33 brands nationwide. Escalent’s findings are based on a survey of over 61,000 residential electric and natural gas customers, which included 142 electric, natural gas and combination utilities.
Escalent measured factors, including customer advocacy, safety and reliability. The company also examines environmental focus. NIPSCO, Columbia Gas of Ohio and Columbia Gas South all scored over 700 on the 1,000-point scale.
Merrillville-based NiSource serves about 3.3 million natural gas customers and 500,000 electric customers across six states through its local Columbia Gas and NIPSCO brands. NIPSCO serves 859,000 natural gas customers and 483,000 electric customers across the northern third of Indiana. NiSource was founded in 1912.
