Gary Community School Corp. names new CFO

Gary Community School Corp. announced the hiring of Linda Zaborowski as the district’s new CFO.

“Linda is an accomplished and results-oriented financial professional with 17 years of distinguished experience in nonprofit finance,” said Yvonne Stokes, GCSC superintendent, in a press release.

Zaborowski is a native of Northwest Indiana. Prior to joining the Gary Schools, she served as deputy treasurer and treasurer in the Griffith Public Schools and The School Town of Munster respectively. 

As CFO of the Gary Schools, Zaborowski’s primary goal is ensuring financial stability and growth for the district. Her first priority is to analyze the district’s financial status, propose any corrective actions and work with departments across the district to address budgetary needs and protocol.

“(Zaborowski) is recognized for developing and executing comprehensive budgets and timelines and for leading cross-functional teams to surpass organizational objectives,” Stokes said.

The Gary Community School Corp. serves 4,076 students in grades kindergarten through 12. The district operates elementary schools, secondary academies, a middle school and a preschool. Gary Community School Corp. was founded in 1909.
