Tim Hadders took the title of Master of the Grill at the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable’s Smoke-Off/Cook Off.

Hadders won with his brisket recipe. The Crown Point event marked Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable’s first Smoke-Off/Cook Off.

Hadders represented Advanced Engineering Services, a Hammond-based engineering design and analysis firm. He and Advanced Engineering Services received trophies for the honors.

Grill masters from other regional companies cooked up ribs, pulled pork, pork belly and pork shoulder. Competitors represented The Pangere, Gatwood Crane Service, Morrison Construction Co., Erosion Construction, Calumet Lumber Inc., Michuda, Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters, Solid Platforms and Falk PLI.

Guest judges were Brent Brashier from Doc’s Smokehouse, Fred Linz from Meats by Linz, John Sabotnik of NiSource and Taylor Hunter of AMS Industries Inc.

The Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable is a nonprofit council of local firms. Members work together to improve construction and maintenance projects in Northwest Indiana. The organization hosts seminars, professional development opportunities, forums and special events.
