Economic Development Corp. Michigan City hires 2 staff members

The Economic Development Corp. recently added Erin Meisner and Eze Redwood to its team of staff members.

Meisner will serve as community development manager. In her new role, she will work on administering the ARPA Small Business Grant. Meisner will also help to advance the Vibrant Michigan City initiative.

The Vibrant Michigan City initiative aims to foster a more economically inclusive community. Meisner will re-establish the Neighborhood Leadership Academy and provide small business support and resources. She will serve on the Michigan City Opportunity Hub Committee and work with Indiana State Prison Re-Imagination.

Redwood is joining EDCMC for 2.5 years through a fellowship through the International Economic Development Council’s Economic Recovery Corp. program. Redwood will focus on business improvement, neighborhood leadership and entrepreneurial support. He also will work to find funding and resources.

Redwood led an innovation think tank at a global investment bank. He served as a Google NTEN Fellow creating movement around digital inclusion. Redwood also helped lead the Kansas City Startup Village that created a community that produced a 75% entrepreneur success rate.

The EDCMC is dedicated to attracting new companies, helping existing businesses and spurring entrepreneurial efforts. The organization works to develop educational opportunities and cultivate a strong workforce. A private nonprofit, the EDCMC was founded over 25 years ago.
