Indiana Chamber seeks nominations for human resources award

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2024 Ogletree Deakins Human Resources Professional of the Year Award.

The award honors full-time human resources practitioners in Indiana who significantly contributed to their organization in 2023. It recognizes individuals who impacted their organization through the implementation of best practices, organization design and effectiveness and accomplishment of their company’s strategic direction.

“Managing human resources is one of the most vital functions of any business or organization,” said Vanessa Green Sinders, Indiana Chamber president and CEO, in a press release. “It can also be an extremely complicated task, and the job has only gotten more challenging since the pandemic with hybrid work schedules, labor shortages and changing employee needs and government regulations.”

The Ogletree Deakins Human Resources Professional of the Year Award shines a spotlight on human resources professionals. The winner will be announced May 2 during the 2024 Human Resources Awards Luncheon at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Nominations can be made by self-nomination or by peers, subordinates, supervisors or others. The deadline for nominations is March 8. Submission information is available here.

Mari Jo Moody, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Batesville Services, won the award in 2023.

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1922. The Indianapolis-based organization advocates for businesses in Indiana. Their mission is to promote economic opportunity and prosperity for people in Indiana.
