First Financial Bank and its associates donated more than $108,000 and volunteered 470 hours in Northwest Indiana in 2023.

“We are neighbors to our clients – we volunteer alongside them and share our resources with the organizations that will help our communities succeed,” said Roddell McCullough, chief corporate responsibility officer for First Financial, in a press release.

The bank gave $4.4 million and 14,829 volunteer hours to community members and organizations throughout their four-state footprint. First Financial gives full-time associates eight hours of paid time off for volunteer activities during work hours.

“We are proud to reflect on the positive impact we’re making, even as we look ahead toward fostering more growth in 2024,” McCullough said.

First Financial’s Community Benefits Agreement for 2024-2028 commits $2.4 billion in lending and investments to low- and moderate-income clients and census tracts. The agreement includes a goal of $18 million in philanthropy.  The emphasis will be on supporting organizations that create and preserve affordable housing and workforce development.
