Centier Bank recently received two awards for its lending performance in 2023.

The Merrillville-based bank received the Community Lender Silver Award and the 3rd Party Lender Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Indiana district office.

The Small Business Administration connects entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses to partners, lenders and community groups. In 2023, the SBA helped Indiana entrepreneurs access $493 million in loans. The SBA recognized Centier as a top Indiana community lender.

“These awards are a symbol of Centier Bank’s unwavering commitment to being a cornerstone in community lending,” said Jerry Tomasic, business banking group manager at Centier, in a press release. “We are proud to serve as a steadfast partner in the SBA's mission to empower entrepreneurs, affirming our dedication to small businesses and our passion for guiding clients towards enduring success.”

The U.S. Small Business Administration was founded in 1953. The SBA’s creation was a response to the pressures of the Great Depression and World War II. The SBA’s Indiana district office serves the entire state of Indiana.

Centier Bank serves 11 counties in Indiana. The bank has been ranked on Forbes’ list of Best-in-State Banks from 2018 to 2023. Centier employs more than 1,000 associates.
