Amy Fry will lead Purdue University Northwest’s College of Nursing as of January.
Fry was chosen as dean after a national search process. She has served as the College of Nursing’s interim dean since July 2023.
“Dr. Fry brings a wealth of clinical nursing expertise that will directly benefit our students, as well as experience managing allied health, online and graduate programs,” said Kenneth Holford, chancellor-elect, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, in a press release. “I am truly excited about the future of nursing at PNW.”
Fry is a registered nurse. She is licensed in Indiana and Illinois.
Fry has served at PNW since January 2022. She previously held the positions of clinical associate professor of nursing. Fry also served as director of the nursing college’s online bachelor's and master’s degree programs.
Before working at PNW, Fry was a clinical faculty member and associate dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. She has taught undergraduate and graduate-level nursing students for over 12 years.
Fry’s degrees in nursing science include a doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a master’s degree from Lewis University and a bachelor’s degree from Trinity Christian College.

As dean, Fry will lead a college with about 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students. The nursing program serves full-time students and working professionals. PNW’s College of Nursing has received national recognition.
Offering more than 70 areas of study, Purdue University Northwest has locations in Hammond and Westville. Students from 30 states and 50 countries attend the university.
