City officials and the Advanced Engineering Systems team gathered for the debut of a mural in Hammond.
Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. and the office of economic development were on hand to commemorate the event Nov. 15. Community members enjoyed refreshments and building tours afterward.
The mural was crafted by local artist Felix Maldonado Jr. at 844 169th St., Hammond. The artwork pays homage to various facets of civil and geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and inspection services.
Local and national engineering communities have credited the mural for its distinctive portrayal of engineering.
