Applications for the 2023 Valparaiso Leadership Academy will be accepted until June 9.

Participants will learn about their communities from government, private business to nonprofit organizations. The community leadership program lasts four months during eight sessions from August through November. It is a partnership between the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce and Purdue Extension.

The mission of the academy is to provide “a growing leadership pool of willing and able leaders for current and future civic, charitable and governmental organizations in Valparaiso,” according to the Valpo Chamber website.

Participants are expected to be committed to civic engagement and become leaders in the organizations they serve.

Applicants will be notified by July 7 if they are accepted into the program. Tuition is $600 for chamber members.
