The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is calling for communities to apply for its 2023 NextEra Energy Resources Community of the Year Award.

Mayors and local officials are encouraged to share their community's efforts toward building the local business climate and overall image this year.

“It will be exciting to once again honor a community that’s taking charge in promoting prosperity and enhancing the quality of life of its residents,” says Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar in a press release. “I’m always amazed to see the different strategies used, many of which can be replicated by others.”

Each year the chamber chooses one community to honor with the award, which will be presented at the Indiana Chamber’s 34th annual awards dinner on Nov. 14 in Indianapolis. The winner will be announced later this year.

The winning community will receive a pre-event press conference, video tribute at the dinner and will be featured on the cover of “BizVoice” magazine.

The previous five communities to receive the award are: Columbus, greater Lafayette, Fort Wayne, Plymouth and Jasper.

Nominations must include answers to essay questions, supporting documents and photos. Entries must be received by June. 2.
