Wisconsin-based Caravel Autism Health recently opened a location at 10419 Calumet Ave. in Munster.
The company provides diagnosis and therapy services to children on the autism spectrum using applied behavior analysis.
“We change lives through ABA therapy,” said Caravel CEO Mike Miller in a press release. “This is evidence-based therapy that helps children with autism reach their greatest potential. We want all children to have access to the highest quality autism care available, so we are stepping up to build clinics where families have struggled to find providers.”
Caravel clinicians track client progress using real-time data that allows for metrics to fine-tune each child's therapy plan.
“Our innovative therapy approach leads to better outcomes and happier lives for the entire family,” according to Maggie Ealy, clinical director and lead board certified behavioral specialist at Caravel in Munster. “ABA therapy has the greatest impact during the early developmental years, so we’re excited to bring this new resource to young children in Northwest Indiana.”
Ealy earned a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in ABA from Ball State University. She has been working with young children since 2005.
Ealy said the company chose Munster because they look for areas that could use more support. She said reports showed parents were waiting up to two years to receive service from other providers.
Caravel was founded in 2009 and is owned by the private equity and venture capital firm Frazier Healthcare Partners.
